Commercial Waterproofing

Case Study - Commercial Waterproofing

Floodsense Contracting were approached by a main contractor to survey the basement of the above office block with a view to waterproofing it. Upon completion of this survey it was found that the basement suffered from the ingress of water due to the water table in this area being very high.

As the client wanted to rent the space out as storage of legal documentation, we proposed that the entire basement was tanked using a membrane system with a fully serviceable drainage channel system with sump pumps and battery back ups.

The Solution

  • - Stripping out of dry lined walls back to the concrete structure
  • - Levelling of basement floor with 44 tons of premixed concrete
  • - Digging out a suitable chamber for the Installation of sump and Pumps with battery backup
  • - Installation of drainage channels
  • - Installation of walled membrane
  • - Finishing floor level with moisture resistance tongue and groove flooring
  • - Installation of floor membranes
  • - Dry lining of all walls

Upon completion of the waterproofing system, FloodSense Contracting re-instated fittings, including plumbing and electrical supplies.
